A book of condolences was placed in the lobby of the Ministry of Defence

A book of condolences was opened today in the lobby of the Ministry of Defence to collect entries in the memory of Agris Hutrof, Corporal in the Estonian Defence Forces. Agris Hutrof was killed in Afghanistan yesterday.
 
The book of condolences will remain open in the Ministry of Defence until his funeral. Entries can be made to the book from 08.00 until 20.00 every day. An identification document is required in order to access the ministry.
 
At the end of next week, the book of condolences will be sent to the Scouts Battalion in Paldiski for entries and after that to Corporal Hutrof’s comrades in Afghanistan. Also, an electronic book of condolences has been opened on the website of the Ministry of Defence at www.kaitseministeerium.ee
 
First entries to the book of condolences were made by Chief of the Defence Forces General Ants Laaneots and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Mikk Marran.
 
“My deepest and sincerest condolences to the family, brothers, sister and mother, relatives and acquaintances of the fallen soldier. The Defence Forces will do everything it can to support them in this very tragic time,” wrote General Laaneots.
 
“My deepest condolences to close relatives and friends of Corporal Hutrof. Agris Hutrof sacrificed his most sacred possession.” Estonia will never forget his sacrifice,” wrote Permanent Secretary Marran.
 
Corporal Agris Hutrof, Member of the Defence Forces and a member of the Estonian infantry company Estcoy-12, was killed in action yesterday morning, while carrying out combat tasks in the NATO operation in Afghanistan.
