Mikk Marran started work as Undersecretary for Defence Investments

As of this week, Mikk Marran is serving as Undersecretary for Defence Investments. He previously worked as the Defence Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Estonia to NATO.
The Undersecretary for Defence Investments directs and coordinates the work of the Procurement Department, Infrastructure Department and NATO Investments Department.
Pursuant to long-term development schedules and procurement plans, these departments procure armaments and equipment for the Defence Forces and develop Defence Forces bases, training areas and other infrastructure.

Mikk Marran graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Tallinn. He has taken part in several training courses in Hungary, Germany and Canada. In 2010, Marran obtained a Master’s degree in National Resource Strategy from the US National Defence University.

From 1999 to 2003, Marran worked in the Baltic Cooperation Section of the Ministry of Defence, including as head of section from 2001-2003. From 2003-2005, Marran served as the Director of the International Co-operation Department and from 2005-2006 as Director of the NATO & ESDP Department. From 2006-2009 Marran was the Defence Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Estonia to NATO.
